Cancer Council has an opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Greater Western Sydney team as Community Network Coordinator. This role is a 0.8FTE position, based at the Rouse Hill community Hub.

This challenging, highly rewarding role is focused on working in partnership with the community to define local directions and programs, within the key priority programs of practical and supportive care, prevention, advocacy and fundraising.  .

As part of a larger team located across Greater Western Sydney you will be building capacity of communities and stakeholders to improve the outcomes for people with cancer, and for people to take action to prevent cancer.  You will liaise and collaborate with local networks, key community stakeholders, volunteers and supporters on programs and services to meet local needs.

This challenging, highly rewarding and satisfying role will see you take a lead in supporting the local community based fundraising efforts in the Greater Western Sydney region.  Your role will include:

• Engaging with existing supporters and expanding community relationships to support community effort in raising much needed funds for cancer support, prevention, information, education and research programs
• Providing support to community lead events
• Actively promoting Cancer Council NSW “Do Your Thing”  online community events
• Building and working with a team of volunteers to support community fundraising efforts
