<p>We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated MARCOMS Officer to provide marketing and administrative support to the National Operations Team. Instrumental in this role is sourcing and distributing promotional merchandise, developing design work (posters, flyers, presentations), updating the website, and supporting volunteer activities.</p>
<p>This is an ideal role for a switched-on and proactive Marketing/Communications graduate with a minimum of 2 years experience, interested in starting or continuing a career in the not-for-profit sector.</p>
<p>Core responsibilities include but not limited to:</p>

<li>Collate internal merchandise orders twice yearly and order merchandise from approved suppliers, and distribute internally.</li>
<li>Coordinate the acquisition of resources for entering care kits and keep accurate stock records.</li>
<li>Develop promotional design work (flyers, templates, posters, presentations).</li>
<li>Monitor and update the website, adding and removing content as necessary.</li>
<li>Provide support to the coordination of volunteer days.</li>
<li>Assist the Business Development Manager with fundraising initiatives, and promotional events.</li>
</ul>
<p>Selection criteria: candidates should have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualification (marketing, communications, business), coupled with a minimum of 2 years experience in marketing/communications.</li>
<li>Experience in the use of website content management systems to be able to proactively identify when things need to be updated or removed.</li>
<li>Excellent written and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate instructions.</li>
<li>Demonstrated time management skills, highly organised and ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously and as a productive member of the team.</li>

<h3>About the role</h3>
<p>We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive full time Marketing &amp; Fundraising Coordinator for our Sydney team. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and performance of the local marketing, community engagement and community fundraising strategy, that contributes significantly to increase Save the Children’s profile, supporter base, and revenue growth at a state based level.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p>

<li>All aspects of day to day management of the Wilderness Defender program within the state</li>
<li>Achieving budgeted sales results for their state</li>
<li>Maintaining minimum staffing levels of the Wilderness Defender teams in each centre within their state</li>
<li>Interviewing of potentially new team staff</li>
<li>All on-going coaching and development of staff within their state</li>
<li>Development of staff retention and reward programs within their state</li>
<li>Assisting with budget development in consultation with the National Management team</li>
<li>Ensuring a high standard of quality control, improvement and efficiency in the WD program</li>
<li>Ensuring an excellent standard of administration and resource allocation across all centre’s within their state</li>
<li>Conducting training sessions for all Wilderness Defender Program staff within their state</li>

<p><em>The <strong>House of Welcome (HoW)</strong> is a project of the Franciscan Friars and St Francis Social Services based at Carramar. This organisation has been operating since 2002 to provide a welcome to refugees and asylum seekers and assist with the provision of housing and support services as they settle into the Australian Community. It is a main provider of transitional housing to asylum seekers at risk in the community. <strong>Please visit www.houseofwelcome.com.au </strong>for more information.</em></p>
<p>This position, <strong>35 hours per fortnight (3-day/2-day)</strong>, is funded for an initial period of 12 months. <strong>Salary Guide:</strong> $22.68 &#8211; $24.87 per hour plus Superannuation and five and a half weeks holidays per year (pro rata) with holiday loading. In addition salary packaging is also available which includes taxation saved by receiving fringe benefits.</p>

<h3>Qualifications and Experience</h3>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Tertiary qualification in administration or community development. Substantial relevant work experience considered in lieu of qualification.</li>

<li>Demonstrated ability to develop policies, procedures and programs.</li>

<p><strong>Volunteers</strong></p>

<li>Develop a policy and model for recruitment and induction of volunteers.</li>
<li>Develop a policy and model for the management, supervision and training of volunteers.</li>
<li>Liaise with Caseworker and Housing &amp; Settlement Coordinator to identify volunteer needs and develop a panel of volunteers to assist in these areas.</li>
<li>Coordinate the advertising and recruitment of volunteers including interview and induction.</li>
<li>Organise the volunteer bi-annual training day and ongoing supervision.</li>
<li>Coordinate a bi-monthly Volunteer online newsletter.</li>
<li>Update Manager on volunteer issues or volunteers in need of extra support.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Client Activities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate an agreed number of client activities and an outing for one family per month. Examples: client information sessions, picnics, football games, visits to beach, parks etc .</li>
<li>Build a roster of volunteers to support our client activites programs.</li>
<li>Build relationships with other organizations that can support activities for our clients.</li>
<li>Liaise with Asst Manager to coordinate and edit the Client newsletter (4 newsletters per year) including organising its translation into Dari and Arabic.</li>
<li>Organise a HoW Refugee Week Event and promote the event.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>General Organisational and Administrative Duties</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure appropriate files are maintained and forms are completed.</li>
<li>Attend team meetings and provide progress reports.</li>
<li>Perform other support duties as required. HoW is a small NGO so flexibility and willingness to get involved is required.</li>
